Join us for the 2019 Relay for Life event that will be held Friday, April 5 at the Lincoln Civic Center. We will kick things off with an opening ceremony at 7pm where we will be honoring everyone who has been affected by cancer and everyone who has contributed to the success of this year’s Relay season.

First the survivors take a celebratory lap, with the crowd cheering them on. Then caregivers take their turn to get recognized for all they do to support their loved ones. During this ceremony we represent everyone touched by cancer with a Luminaria at 9pm. Each light represents a life—a life taken by cancer, a survivor of cancer, or a support for a person still fighting the disease. It’s a powerful demonstration that gives people the opportunity to grieve but also offers comfort and hope. Once the event is in full swing, teammates take turns walking the track or path to symbolize the ongoing fight against cancer. Between laps, you can check out other teams’ tents for games and activities, and help support the cause by purchasing raffle tickets or food.
